Find The Jobs That You Need To Help Pay Bills

The old adage of finding a job that fits you and your personality has seem to gone down the wayside for a lot of us.  But taking along the same vein you need to qualify yourself for the job that you are applying for.

Sure we’ll take anything that comes along but why would an employer hire a person without the skills needed for job?  Well they wouldn’t and they shouldn’t if they want to stay in business for very long.You really need to assess yourself and write down your qualifications no matter what type of job you intend to apply.  In fact the job market is secondary to what you have to offer any company in this economy.

If you don’t pre-qualify yourself then place emphasis in the field of work that you are applying for.  Knowing this about yourself will come out in the interviews that you’ll have with prospective employers.  By doing this homework ahead of time then you maximize your time in the quest for rinding the job that you are looking for.

If you don’t have a very specific idea of what you really want to do but you do have a background of experience in a specific field then it may be wise to talk to a job counselor.  Job counselors can readily assess people based on their qualifications.  They are trained to ask questions to get the most out of people on what they have done in the past.

But in your case you’ve already done that and that will help any counselor right from the chutes.  So given all the information the job counselor will be able to hone in on a particular niche of the field that you are interested in and then you’ll know where you may fit in particular organization.

Once you have this information on finding an area that you are best qualified for then it’s time to investigate further and find someone already in that field.  Start conversing with this person that already has a position that you would like to have and find out the ins and outs of what inside information would be good to have in an interview.

Call this person a mentor, a good luck charm or whatever the point is that the information that this person can give you can be life changing.  Be a friend, take him or her to lunch and find out what you have to learn or offer in order to be marketable to an organization looking for people in that profession.
